Getting Here

Getting here by public transport

Nottingham Trent University City Campus has superb public transport links, including the tram which will drop you off almost at the door!

As parking in the city centre can be awkward and expensive, we strongly recommend trying to use public transport where possible.

Getting the train

Nottingham Railway Station has direct links to London, Birmingham, Leeds, Leicester, Sheffield, Manchester and Liverpool.

Our venue is a 15 minute walk away from the station (0.7 miles, mostly uphill).

Alternatively, there are numerous buses that depart from outside the station and head into the city centre, or the aforementioned tramline is connected to the station and will get you to NTU in just 5 minutes.

To get the tram from the station please go to a ticket machine at the tram stop and purchase a “Short Hop” ticket which costs just £1.50. Get off at “Nottingham Trent University” which is the fourth stop.

Getting the coach

There is a National Express stop and ticket office within the Broadmarsh Bus Station.

This is a 12 minute walk (0.6 miles) from City Campus. Alternatively there are further bus or tram services that will get you to the city centre too!

East Midlands Airport

Arriving by plane? East Midlands Airport is a 14 mile drive away. A taxi can get you to us in around 25 minutes.

There is also the Skylink, a bus route that runs every half hour and stops in the city centre.

Driving

When driving to NTU City Campus please use the postcode NG1 4BU.

The nearest motorway is the M1. When travelling from the north, exit at Junction 26 and follow the signs for the A610 to Nottingham City Centre. When travelling from the south, exit at Junction 24 and follow the signs for the A453 to Nottingham City Centre.

Parking

There is some on-street parking (pay and display) available on Hampden Street with no maximum stay restrictions. Blue Badge holders park for free. Please check local signage.

For better information and advice about parking in Nottingham, including council car parks and on-street parking locations, please refer to this page of the Nottingham City Council website.

UPDATE: NTU E&C are able to offer a single use 45% off voucher for parking in Talbot Street Car Park which is very close to the Newton Building. This voucher is to be used at the pay stations in the car park before you leave.

Please note, YOU MUST press for a ticket upon entry to the car park, DO NOT use the contactless payment option when you enter. This is so that you can activate the voucher discount at the pay station on exit.

The 45% discount can apply to any length of stay and you can park overnight.

Please ask a member of NTU staff for your voucher, the BiCon Organiser Team cannot provide them.

Park & Ride

Nottingham has numerous Park & Rides where you can park up and catch the tram into the city centre. The nearest one to NTU is The Forest, NG7 6AQ.

If you are staying the weekend, please select a £22 weekly ticket which will activate on purchase. To park overnight you must then email info@thetram.net with a photo of your ticket, the details of your vehicle (make, model, colour and registration) and confirm the name of the Park & Ride carpark you are using.

Please ensure to complete these steps, we really don’t want anyone to get fined!
